Following on from the launch of the CrossPolo and CrossGolf earlier this year, Volkswagen is now completing (unless, that is, the company plans to jack up the Jetta...) its family of soft-roaders with the presentation of the new CrossTouran. In essence, the car is a plastic body kitted version of the standard Touran minivan blessed with an extra road clearance and a more rugged, off-road look.

A snapshot, allegedly showing a page from the official brochure of the facelifted 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV, has been making the internet rounds today.

We can't confirm or deny the authenticity of the picture with the Tiguan SUV on the right-hand corner of the page, but red flags did go up once we discovered that the rest of the photos are from the official brochure of the... recently facelifted VW Touran minivan. 2011 Volkswagen Touran 7-Seater MPV Receives Second Mid-Life Facelift

For the second time since its introduction in 2003 and four years after the presentation of the revised model in 2006, the Volkswagen Touran 7-seater MPV has yet again been facelifted.

Due to make its world premiere at this month's Auto Mobil International (AMI) motor show, which runs from 10 to 18 April in Leipzig, Germany, the 2011 Touran features a refreshed styling inspired by the new Polo, Golf and Touareg models.

At the front, the Touran gets VW's latest corporate grille along with new headlamp and bumper designs. The rear section of the Touran was also restyled featuring two-piece tail lamps that extend from the wing into the tailgate, while VW's designers also modified the MPV's profile by adding an upwards kink on the rear window section.

If we are to believe the organizers of the AMI auto show in Leipzig, then along with the new BMW 5-Series Touring (pictures of which have already been released), the German salon will also host the world premiere of the facelifted Audi TT and either a new or updated version of Volkswagen's Golf-based Touran compact MPV.

No other details were released about the two cars but we reckon that since the show runs from April 10 to 18, it won't be long before the VW Group makes an official announcement.

MR Car Design Sports Up the VW Touran 2.0 TDI to 223HP

The tuning boffins over at MR Car Design have churned out a new sports package for the Volkswagen Touran people carrier equipped with the 2.0 TDI diesel engine. The Golf-based MPV gets a stage 1 treatment that includes among other things a recalibrated ECU and a custom-made stainless steel sport exhaust system that ups output to 223 horsepower and 457Nm or 337 lb-ft of peak torque.

A sport suspension kit by KW lowers the ride height by up to 80mm while the tuner also fits the Touran with a Stoptech high-performance braking system with 4-piston calipers.

A new set of 19-inch alloy wheels by RC Design in a white finish that are wrapped in 235/35-19 Vredestein tires and the white racing stripes round off the package.
